Black Ferns Assistant Coach – Backs/Skills

New Zealand Rugby is currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Assistant Coach specialising in back play and skills with the Black Ferns Team. This is an exciting position for a Coach who has a passion for rugby, a reputation for excellence, and a competitive edge. The candidates location is flexible as long as they are able to attend camps/tours etc. as required. 

Beyond discipline-specific expertise and experience, candidates should have outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.  A strong empathy for the values which underpin New Zealand Rugby will need to be demonstrated, as will high levels of integrity, passion, and competitive drive.

The successful candidate for this position must also have the ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally with the team. Therefore, applicants must maintain a current passport and be eligible to travel overseas and back to New Zealand (including maintaining eligibility to obtain any necessary visas).

The successful candidate must:

  • The Assistant Coach is required to support and contribute to the coaching, selection and development of the team.
  • Accountable to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coaches primary responsibility will be to coach the backs and skills
  • Candidates must have experience coaching backs at a representative level.
