New Zealand Rugby is currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Team Doctor for the Black Ferns. This is an exciting position for a Doctor who has a passion for rugby, a reputation for excellence, and a competitive edge.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Doctor who has a background working with high-level athletes. This is an important role within this team and we will be looking for a candidate who enjoys being part of a team focused on excellence. The candidates location is flexible as long as they are able to attend camps/tours etc. as required. 

Beyond discipline-specific expertise and experience, candidates should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game as well as outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.  A strong empathy for the values which underpin New Zealand Rugby will need to be demonstrated, as will high levels of integrity, passion, and competitive drive.

the successful candidate for this position must also have the ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally with the team. Therefore, applicants must maintain a current passport and be eligible to travel overseas and back to New Zealand (including maintaining eligibility to obtain any necessary visas).

While not considered essential, a post-graduate level sports medicine or related qualification would be desirable

This role is part-time with the specific size and commensurate remuneration to be negotiated with the preferred candidate.
