The New Zealand Heartland XV is a national team selected from players playing their rugby in the twelve Heartland Provincial Unions. The 2019 campaign will offer an increased opportunity for players and team management to work and play for a national representative team, as it will involve two assemblies, one in August the other in early November.

The Assistant Coach is required to support and contribute to the coaching, have a thorough technical understanding, and ability to work within a coaching team. The Assistant Coach will also play a key role in the selection process and assist the Head Coach in administrative and organising duties in the lead up to and during the campaign.
The successful candidates for the above role will ideally be part of the coaching staff or management team of a Mitre 10 Heartland Championship team in 2019.
For this role a strong empathy for the values which underpin rugby in New Zealand will need to be demonstrated, as will high levels of integrity, passion, and a competitive drive.
The role will be on a fixed term contract, paid a per day rate for the number of days assembled. Location will be wherever the team assembles.
