New Zealand Rugby is currently seeking to appoint 2 Strength & Conditioning Coaches. One with the New Zealand Schools team and the other with the Barbarians Schools team.
The appointees will be suitably qualified as a Strength & Conditioning Coach and experienced with physical conditioning in an elite sporting environment. They will be responsible for the delivery of Strength and Conditioning and Sports Science services to the Schools players.
Beyond discipline-specific expertise and experience, candidates should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game as well as outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. A strong empathy for the values which underpin New Zealand rugby will need to be demonstrated, as will high levels of integrity, passion, and competitive drive.
This positions will provide an exciting development opportunity with the successful candidate working under the guidance of the NZR Player Development Manager, and a Super Rugby coach in a High Performance coaching environment.
Candidates for the position will ideally be working with school aged players and have a sound understanding of their developmental requirements. The successful candidates will be required to implement systems and processes that ensure a quality High Performance environment is achieved, and that optimal performance is realised.
NZ Schools Programme
In 2017, the New Zealand Schools team is travelling to Australia to play 3 tests against Fiji Schools, Australian ‘A’ and Australia Schools in Sydney. Assembly will be from 22 September – 8 October.
Barbarians Schools Programme
In 2017, the Barbarians Schools team is playing 2 domestic matches against NZ Maori Under 18 and Tonga Schools. Assembly will be from 22 September – 3 October.
